I have worked as an employee in Horticultural since leaving school. First I gained qualifications and experience in Floristry in my Country of Birth-the Netherlands. Then I gained further experience in many aspects of Horticulture: nursery-trade-growing plants from cuttings as well as in the Amenity sector working for several private and public gardens.
After Kew I worked as Glass-house Supervisor, garden Supervisor and had 2 separate jobs as a Head-Gardener. My longest serving job as a Head-Gardener was for a Agricultural College (South Staffordshire College of Further Education-Rodbaston College) where I also maintained and grew the NCCPG New World Salvia-collection as well as pioneered and developed educational gardens and projects for the students and visitors.

Qualifications and skills

City & Guilds in Amenity Horticulture- Level 2 Year 1 & 2; Kew Diploma in Horticulture (1989); Basic Teaching Level 1 (1991)

Skills, technical expertise and areas of interest: 

30 + year knowledge and work-experience in Horticulture, Fast plant-interest and knowledge, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Diploma in Horticulture. Interest and knowledge in Organic and Biodynamic methods of growing.

Areas of Permaculture Design Experience: 

Some private gardens, allotments, community gardens
